紀要論文

The purpose of this study is to examine the children’s act of “kaku” performed in interactive situation. A Japanese term of “kaku” involves meanings of scratch, pick, draw, paint, lack, and writing. 5-year-old preschoolers and 1st grade students are observed and the episodes are analyzed by qualitative approach. As a result, the three phases of “Expression”, “Awareness”, and “Creation”are shown. The first phase of “Expression” includes “Tracing traces drawn by others” and “ Interact writing activity(with others)”. The second phase of “Awareness” includes “Giving a meaning to the line in words”, “Discussing about what to draw” and “Giving a strenth to a word”. The last phase of “Creation” includes “Writing draft for speech” and “Writing up sentences with others”. In each phase, children engaged with others and created their own “place”. This study indicates that cooperative works could lead children to “kaku” in a vivid way.
