老人大学修了者の老人大学への評価と修了後の社会参加活動との関連を探るために,都道府県単位で募集と活動が行われている老人大学の修了者997人に対して,老人大学講座への評価や受講後の社会活動への参加に関する質問紙調査を実施した.老人大学への評価を数量化皿類によって構造化して基本軸を析出したのちに,これと回答者の社会参加活動との関連を分析した.その結果,「人間関係一自己実現」「知識・技能一社会参加」の2つの基本軸が析出されたが,このうち「自己実現一社会参加」象限にある評価項目群が,修了後の社会参加活動および「女性」「主婦など」「70代後半以上」「できた友人数10人以上」という属性と対応関係にあることが示された.逆に,「男性」「高学歴」「元管理職」「60代」「できた友人数9人以下」という属性は「人間関係一知識・技能」象限に位置したが,こうした人々に対しては,修了者同士のグループ活動が,その社会参加活動への重要な媒介となるものと考えられた.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between the graduates' evaluation of the Senior College and their participation in the social activities. For this purpose a questionnaire survey was conducted to the graduates (N=997) of Osaka Prefecture Senior College. After detecting the main axes by using Hayashi's quantification method III, relationships between these axes and the respondents' experiences of social participation were analyzed. The results showed that the main axes were "human relations-self-actualization" and "knowledge/skill-social participation," and that the graduates' social participation corresponded to the "self-actualization-social participation" quadrant, and to female, housewives or no job, 75 and older, more than 10 friends gained. On the other hand, "human relations - knowledge/skill" quadrant cor-responded to male, university grads, managerial, age 60 to 69, less than 9 friends gained. For this group, the graduates' group activities were considered to be an important catalyst to their social participation.
