Abstract

One of the problems of elementary schools is that there are few classes of inquiry-based learning in thescience curricula. The purpose of elementary school tuition is for a child to acquire scientific knowledge andskills. It is necessary to perform inquiry-based learning to achieve active learning. This study considers thedesign of inquiry-based learning for autonomous, interactive, and deep learning in primary school sciencecurricula. Additionally, curriculum design and teaching methods for active learning are considered.After the preceding study was consulted, it was found that elementary-school level curriculum design forinquiry-based learning requires: (1) natural experiences and discovery of problems at the tuition’s introduction;(2) activities for problem-solving; and (3) consideration that necessitate the use of scientific knowledge andskills. This study proposes teaching methods for inquiry-based learning.
