The authors reveal and compare the changing patterns of gender segregation in the composition of students who have graduated from universities in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan since 2004. The students are classified into 7 categories in accordance with the ISCED97: Education, Humanities & Arts, Social Sciences, Science & Mathematics, Engineering, Agriculture & Veterinary, and Health & Welfare. We discuss (1) the situation of female PhD graduates and (2) the ratios of men and women at the various levels of higher education (bachelor, master, PhD) in each field.
