Abstract

Nowadays, Child abuse in Japan is increasing, and the number of cases handled by welfare officials reached high records. In the cases of child abuse, some disability matters are involved. Children spend a large portion of their time in school, the role of educators in responding to child abuse is important. The aim of this study was to think the role of school education in responding to child abuse in the reflection as a social worker in our practice. From reflection and examination of cases, controlling−punitive and disabling of the children were suggested. Educators are in a position to provide support to children and their families, and they should be sensitive to child abuse matters.
