Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the environment of education and care for two−year−old children in kindergarten. Kindergarten education of two−year−olds serves to support parents in the child−rearing process. Two−year−olds cannot formally enroll in kindergarten, because under the law children start kindergarten at the age of three. According to a questionnaire survey, there are various time schedule patterns pertaining to the education and care of two−year−olds. There are also family−oriented toys and other toys unique to kindergarten available at these facilities. In this environment, the children feel safe and also play with their usual toys. They can also broaden their experience by playing in the sand areas in the same rhythm with other children and preschool teachers. Preschool teachers believe it important to establish solid relationships with these children and consider each child carefully.
