Abstract

This study aimed to investigate whether the feedback messages received from a teacher or coach during physical activity affect the response time for judging pleasant or unpleasant emotions and event-related potentials. Twenty-one university students participated in this experiment. The results suggest that, as compared to other types of messages, when messages evoking pleasure on failure were provided by the teacher or coach, the students or players were slow in judging if the emotion was pleasant or unpleasant because they spent their limited information processing resources on interpreting the meaning of the message.
