Abstract

Development of non-contact vital information measurement, such as the respiration and heart rate, with ultra-wideband radars attracts strong attention. An estimation algorithm for the interbeat interval based on topological information has been proposed. In the algorithm, a filter which rejects the effects of the respiration is employed. In this study, we report the effectiveness of the filter which emphasizes the high-frequency component. The performance of the filter used in conventional method and filters with the center frequency of 1.2 Hz, 3.6, 6.2, and 8.4 Hz are examined in the experimental studies with eight participants. It is found that the estimation accuracy of the filters with high center frequencies are higher than that selects the baseband frequency of the heart beat.
