This paper is based on a survey of 39 active child-care providers to determine the scope of their self-images. Their multiple child-care images were analyzed and classified using “KJ’s method”. After analysis and classification of the child-care images of the child-care providers, four predominant images became clear. Category 1: the custody of a child (32.4%), including sub-categories of love, feelings about a child, and compatibility. Category2: The child-care (24.5%), including the sub-categories of purpose of child-care, up-bringing of a child, and nursing.Category 3: the protector (12.9%), including the sub-categories of relationship, and protector support. Category 4: the child-care provider (30.3%), including characteristics of the role, child-care profession, child-provider jobs and workplace. The child-care image components varied depending on the number of years of child-care provider work experience. The analysis and classification of their child-care images indicated a development process in their child-care images. The main points of the child-care images can be summarized as follows -(1) In the case of less than five years of child-care work experience: the images of child-care providers are centered on the child.(2) In the case of six to ten years of child-care work experience: the images of child-care providers are focused in two directions, where one direction is an improvement of vocational consciousness, and the other direction is a budding consciousness of a specialty.(3) In the case of 11 to 20 years of child-care work experience: the images of child-care providers are focused in two directions, where one direction is the development of a systematized child-care practice, and the other direction is a deepening of specialty.(4) In the case of more than 21 years of child-care work experience: the images of child-care providers are transformed from a broad compound specialty scope of practice into a concise child-care practice.
