Abstract

How has the study of Signature Pedagogy been carried out in the study of teacher education in Japan? How has the research on the Teacher Educator been progressed? What is required as a methodology for research that bridges the above two things? We try to identify them through literature research and interview in this paper.Researches on pedagogy peculiar to teacher education have been done in Japan. The research papers on teacher educators in Japan has been gradually emerging since 2012. However, the relationship between Signature Pedagogy and FD studies have not been fully recognized in research on Teacher Educators in Japan.As a result, it was clarified that the number of research papers on self-study and teacher educators in Japan has grown significantly since 2019 and the discussion of the methodology of teacher educator research according to the purpose and content is required in the future to improve the quality of this research.
