[Abstract]We have been reported that amphoteric poly[Nα-acrylamide-L-lysine][poly(α-LysAA)] having L-Lysine as a side chain showed anti-thrombogenicity and enhanced fibrinolytic activity based on a selective binding activity with fibrinolytic proteins[plasminogen (Plg), tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA)]. To know biocompatibility for biomedical uses, the human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2 cell) responsiveness was evaluated in the presence of poly(α-LysAA). As the results from no effect on cell proliferation, cytotoxicity, and cell viability of HepG2 cells in the poly(α-LysAA)-contained medium or -coated dish, a bio-inert property of poly(α-LysAA) was shown.
