Abstract
In recent years, the use of digitization of medical images has progressed steadily, and has brought the development of the method for CAD (Computer Aided diagnosis). We developed bone structural analyzing system using two-dimensional X-ray images. However, as a consequence, the advancement of the image quality and of image dimension, requires immense data storage for image processing, filing, and transmission. In general, image compression decreases the accuracy of diagnosis because of the decay of information. It is more serious than the case of using only for diagnostic imaging visually. This paper describes advanced image analyzing method for osteoporosis and the image compression method using wavelet transformation.
