Thermal conduct of continuous casting billet has been calculated by the culculus of finite differences for estimating sumpf length and shell thickness of ingot.<br>The coefficients of heat transfer between spray water and ingot surface were obtained by repeated calculation changing the coefficients until the surface temperature obtained by the calculation and the measurement could be observed almost. equal.<br>Using these coefficents the temperature distribution of ingot was calculated in the case of various water ratio and calculated temperature of ingot surface was coincident with measured temperature.
