抄録

Meiotic behaviour was studied in Japanese Black bulls carrying the 7/21 Robertsonian translocation. Most of the cells at diakinesis from one heterozygous bull carried twenty-nine chromosome configurations including a chain trivalent. Second metaphases had a bimodal distribution of 29 and 30 chromosomes. The 7/21 translocation chromosome often appeared in the second metaphase with the lower chromosome number. Four out of 102 cells carried an unbalanced karyotype due to the presence of an excess chromosome, and the percentage of non-disjunction was 7.8 percent. No hypermodal aneuploid cell at the second metaphase was observed in the homozygous bull.
