抄録

A total of 17 cases of Crohn's disease was encountered. Surgical treatment was required in 8 and medical treatment combined with intravenous hyperalimentation was effective in 9 cases. Anastomosis was possible in 6 among 8 operated cases. Anal fistula was associated in 7 cases, all but one being successfully treated by ordinary lay-open.<BR>Reviewing the world literature there are two school as to the surgical treatment of Crohn's disease ; wide resection and mininal resection. The former is supported by Scandinavian and Garman surgeons and the latter by latter by British and American surgeons. Our policy is not too wide but not too minimal resection and as to the timing of surgical treatment decision should not be postponed till too late.
