We report a case of anorectal amelanotic malignant melanoma. A sixty-four year old man complaining of anal bleeding and pain was diagnosed as the disease by histological examination of the biopsy specimen stained by hematoxylin and eosin, as well as melanin stain. CT findings of chest and abdomen showed lung and liver metastasis. Abdominoperitoneal resection was performed. The resected specimen showed a light gray tumor resembling Borrmann 1 type, sized 6.2×5.2×2.8 cm just above dentate line. The tumor stained positive for S-100 protein and HMB-45 monoclonal antibody. Adjuvant chemotherapy by pirarubicin, bleomycin, and cisplatin was done with systemic administration of OK-432 and interleukin-2, but the patient died three months after the operation.
