抄録

An attempt was made to clarify whether or not the measurement of serum proteins with rapid turn over produced by liver is useful for the early recognition of fatal cases of acute viral hepatitis. Normotest, prealbumin and α2-HS-glycoprotein were measured simultaneously. The values of Normotest and α2-HS-glycoprotein are substantially different between fatal and surviving cases of subcute hepatitis, and also the values of Normotest and α2-HS-glycoprotein are parallel with the severity of liver cell necrosis in cases of acute hepatitis without serious signs and symptoms. Prealbumin is not a useful tool to assess the prognosis, but sensitive test for following clinical course of acute hepatitis. From these results we should like to emphasize that the measurement of serum proteins with rapid turnover predict the prognosis of acute hepatitis in early stage and give valuable informations for the therapy.
