Abstract
Threshold wind velocity for movement of snow particles sampled from a natural snow surface was measured in a wind tunnel, and compared with the terminal velocity of particles, repose angle, form of snow particles, and air temperature.Threshold wind velocity was small about 5m/s, for new snow particles, and increased up to more than 10m/s during 1-3 days. The relation between threshold wind velocity and terminal velocity differed with snow particle form.adhesive force of snow particles to the snow surface was estimated from threshold wind velocity, terminal velocity and repose angle of snow particles.
