抄録

This article proves that cultural institution has the potential to make a contribution to the promotion of regional policy, based on the analysis of activities by cultural institution to community renovation.<br>In Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, the public museum offers the opportunity for regional study to the citizens; it shows that the museum contributes to the improvement of regional space, landscape and community renovation on social development.<br>Supported by a higher-level regional policy for community renovation, the museum has a positive effect on the management and the community development in cooperation with citizen.
