An extensive hemangioma in the face of a 36-year-old woman was successfully managed by pure magnesium sclerosing therapy. A total of 53cm of pure (99.8%) magnesium wire, 0.5mm in diameter, was inserted into the tumor in four times over 15 months. Although no reduction of the mass was observed, the sclerosed tumor was easily separated and removed. The sclerosing effect on the tumor minimized bleeding and facial nerve injury could be avoided. Pathological examination showed the formation of thrombi and dense collagen fibers, confirming the sclerosing effect.
