A 61-year-old man who had squamous cell carcinoma originating in the mouth floor was treated with radiation therapy and radical surgery. About one year after the operation, the tumor metastasized to the neck lymphnode. The excised node represented histopathologically “adenosquamous carcinoma”. Then, chemotherapy with 5-FU (total 6000 mg i.v.) was employed. At present, recurrence has not been observed after the therapy. Retrospectively, the original squamous cell carcinoma was examined histochemically, and it revealed a little intracytoplasmic mucin.
