抄録

The needle type glucose sensor has been developed and improved using a new type oxygen electrode composed of a Ti wire of which surface was anodically oxidized, and examined in vivo animal tests. The deviation of the output current with time of the oxygen electrode system as indicated in the previous paper has been decreased by heat sealing of the Ti wire in a glass capillary. Several surface analysis technics have been employed to investigate the surface characteristics of the oxygen electrode system and the glucose sensor. The oxide layer has proved to be TiO2 by Auger and ESCA analyses. It has been confirmed that -O-Si-(CH2)3NH2 groups were introduced to the TiO2 surface, which served the firm immobilization of the enzyme, by FTIR analysis. In vivo IVGTT using a normal dog, the sensor immplanted in the subcutaneous tissue has responded the blood glucose levels, although improvements in the response time and stability are still required.
