Abstract

Neutrons have been less utilized for most of materials development because of hard access, slow to start actual experiments, large amount of sample, limited opportunity, secrecy obligation, etc. It is also because materials scientists and industrial scientists have limited knowledge on neutron. This situation would be altered when we establish a system of structural evaluation with easy access, quick start, secret-guarantee system, accepting several tens of thousand experiments in a year, routine tutorial system, etc. Impact on materials development would be expected. Industrial usages of pulsed neutron are emphasized, and the strategy for promoting them is presented.
