Activity, heat of mixing, excess entropy and specific heat in the various liquid binary alloys of copper were determined and the thermodynamic properties were investigated systematically based on the obtained data.<BR>The main results obtained are as follows:<BR>(1) The thermodynamic quantities of copper alloys are closely related to the periodic table. (2) The thermodynamic properties represent quite different features from those of the couples of polyvalent normal metals and show anomalies in the high concentration range of copper. Some other physical properties of copper alloys represent similar features. (3) The observed anomalies can be explained successfully by supposing the formation of short range order in the liquid phase.
