抄録

The present study treats with residual toxicants of BHC and malathion (dissolved in methyl alcohol) to a millipede, Anaulaciulus quadratus(TAKAKUWA). During twenty-four hours each group of animals is cultured in an experimental chamber which contains a piece of filter with amount of one milliliter toxicants. As a result of the experiment, the following facts were confirmed: (1) The effect of BHC on the animals is much stronger than that of malathion. (2) Each millipede shows negative responses (vigilance, predefensive posture, defensive posture and decease) to the chemical substances.
