To accomplish laparoscopic cholecystectomy, the overall grasp of the clinical anatomy, especially cholecystic arterial anatomy is essential. In this study the cholecystic arterial anatomy was investigated in terms of the treatment of the arteries for laparascopic cholecystectomy.<br> Cholyecystic arteries were classified into 9 types from a viewpoint of the treatment. When compared with Michel's cholecystic arterial anatomy, each type appeared in a similar frequency. In treating the cholecystic arteries, “the long cholecystic arteries” could be easily maneuvered, however, “the short cholecystic arteries” could be safely treated especially at a portion near the gallbladder. In addition careful maneuvers were necessary for treating the artery running along the cystic duct. Even if a cholecystic artery is treated, a possible existence of another artery must be entertained.
