抄録

We report a case of pediatric incarcerated femoral hernia of the sigmoid colon. A 4-month-old girl with vomiting, bloody stool, and loss of suckling ability was found on physical examination to have a bulge was in the right inguinal region. Computed tomography (CT) showed the incarcerated sigmoid colon leading to a diagnosis of right incarcerated inguinal hernia of the sigmoid colon. Because the impacted intestine could not be reduced manually, emergency surgery was required.<br>The inguinal canal was opened, and the hernia sac found inferior to the inguinal ligament and penetrating the inguinal canal. We diagnosed femoral hernia. There was the sigmoid colon in the hernia sac. The distal side of the sac was resected and the neck was highly ligated.<br>The girl was discharged 5 days after surgery. No femoral hernia has recurred in the intervening 3 months.
