抄録

From 1979 to 1988, 363 patients with non-small cell lung cancer were operated on. Nineteen (5.2%) had resections of lung cancer in the right middle lobe, 13 males and six females. The histological types were adenocarcinoma in 11, spuamous cell carcinoma in five and large cell carcinoma in three patients. Curative resection was performed in 12. The 5-year survival rate of the 19 patients was 36.3%, and that of the 12 who received resection was 64.3%. The outcome was similar statistically to that of patients with non-small cell cancer of the other lobes.
