抄録

There were found in ammonium sulfate-precipitated fraction of O. 3 M NaCl extract of silkworm posterior silkglands two ribonuclease activities separable by chromatography on a Carboxymethylcellulose column. One of the two was purified further by gel filtration through a Sephadex G-100 column. Overall extent of purification and recovery of the activity reached about 400 fold and 3%, respectively. The purified enzyme splits quantitatively C5′-phosphate linkages, via intermediate formation of cyclic structure, of adenylic, guanylic, cytidylic, and uridylic acid residues in 3′, 5′-phosphodiester structure of ribonucleic acid.
