Abstract

We are modeling travelers' psychological state of the route choice behaviour linguistically by extracting psychological information from open-ended questionnaire texts. The travelers' consciousness of route choice is expressed as selection of aspects which are the result of the cognition of each route in the choice set. The choice strategy is classified into three types: Positive, Negative and Indifferent. The method to extract the choice strategy of aspects from the open-ended questionnaire texts is shown by using linguistic expression patterns. Furthermore, the adequateness of this method is tested by applying to unseen texts.
