In order to assess the effects of daily skin care on atopic dry skin, a trial was performed. The subjects were instructed for the trial to use a body cleanser, a cream and a bath additive. The results showed that ceramide levels in the horny layer were increased and hence, functions of the skin as a barrier were restored. In addition, a comparison of overt skin conditions before and after the treatment showed that skin conditions were improved in many cases; for example, the dry skin improved in most cases. These findings indicated that taking care of atopic dry skin with these products was highly useful. There was no adverse effect arising from the use of these products.<BR>In conclusion, the daily use of these skin care products is effective in restoring skin functions, and alleviating symptoms or preventing aggravation of atopic dry skin.
