抄録

The tone reproduction of digital still camera systems has been discussed on the two points that the system requires imaging of the real scenes and that the images are reproduced mainly on the display monitors. The former claims for the color appearance matching caused by the different lighting conditions of the object andthe viewing condition, which has long been discussed for the silver-halide photography. The latter is the same as the TV systems, that is, viewing flares of the display monitors play a significant role for the tone reproduction.
