抄録

In a pumping drainage basin lying in flat and lower area of paddy fields, inside water level of the pumping station varies with the operation of pumps, affecting the runoff by back water. In order to analyze the runoff, therefore, it is desirable to take into account the water level as a parameter.<BR>At first, a statistical unit hydrograph method which can explain the variation of the water level was investigated. And a linear storage model was found to make this unit hydrograph reasonably smooth. After applying this method to the observed data in two practical basins, the writer finally proposed an improved model, as it were, a back water type storage model, which successfully represented nonlinearity of the runoff in low-lying area and showed good adaptation.<BR>In spite of its simplicity, this model will be useful in studing the control of surface drainage systems, as it seems to express the balance of systems to some extent.
