Abstract

ヒラメの遊泳行動の時空間的な変化を調べるために,大村湾と東シナ海で深度・温度記録計を用いた行動調査を実施した。その結果,ヒラメの活動率は,両海域ともに季節的に変化した。1 月の東シナ海の活動率は大村湾より 39 倍高く,海域による違いも見られた。このような行動の変化は刺網の影響面積に影響を及ぼすことが分かった。ヒラメの遊泳行動に関する知見は資源量の変動を正確に推定する際に役立つものと考えられる。<br>

  To clarify the seasonal changes in swimming behavior of adult Japanese flounder <i>Paralichthys olivaceus</i>, we used depth-temperature data loggers to monitor the behavior of the fish in the East China Sea (ECS) and Omura Bay (OMB), Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. We obtained behavioral data from December to the following May. In the OMB, the activity rate of the fish in December was 0.2% but in April the activity rate increased to 2.6%. Similar results were obtained in the ECS. However, the activity rate in January in the ECS was 38.8 times greater than that in the OMB. Our results suggest that such spatio-temporal variations in swimming behavior of the flounder affect the catchability of fixed fishing gear for the flounder, such as gillnets, deployed in the study region.<br>
