Abstract
Based on survey on current conditions data of buildings damage for 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, we comprehend the status of buildings damage and clarify its characteristics of 12 municipalities in coastal areas of Iwate prefecture. As a result, the most structure of building was wooden buildings and amounted to 59 percent.95 percent of the wooden building was damaged over partially destroyed. It was especially cleared to become higher the rate of flooded buildings in the southern coastal than the northern coastal of Iwate.Furthermore, we classified stricken areas of five types in the square scale of several hundred meters. There will be a possibility that the classification is able to apply to the vulnerability assessment of a group of buildings.
