Abstract
In this study, we analyzed the transitional relationship between DID population density and passenger car ownership rate based on the data of 163 cities from 1975 to 2005.<br>As a result, from 1975 to 1985, passenger car ownership rates in all cities increase, and the increase of passenger car ownership rate is not related DID population density. However, from 1995 to 2005, the higher DID population density, the smaller the increase of passenger car ownership rate. Moreover, the increase of passenger car ownership rate where DID population density has increased is smaller than that where DID population density has decreased.
