反対色空間における輝度-色差相関を利用した画像符号化に関する検討 Image Coding Using Luma-Chroma Correlation in Opponent Color Space

The luminance-chrominance signals carry the color information more effectively to human vision than RGB signals. This paper presents a simple picture coding algorithm using Luma-Chroma correlation in opponent color space. Chromatic components are described as a function of lightness in each sub-block. A pair of chrominance vs. luminance coefficients is transmitted with lightness pixels. The coefficients are optimized via S-CIELAB visual space.
