Abstract
Conformal mappings are familiar in science and engineering. However, exact mapping functions are not known except for a limited class of domains. Therefore, numerical conformal mappings have been studied for a long time. Recently, the problem of multiply connected domains has attracted special interest. In the conformal mapping of multiply connected domains, a standard domain such as the unit disk for simply connected domains does not exist, and canonical domains with slits of various shapes are used. In this report, we show that approximate mapping functions of simple form and high accuracy are obtained for conformal mappings of given problem domains onto the canonical slit domains, where we express analytic functions by a linear combination of complex logarithmic functions. It is important also in the viewpoint of applications of numerical conformal mappings.
