Abstract
A method for the inverse scattering analysis in an elastic half space is developed by means of the fast volume integral equation method. The first kind of the Fredholm equation for the inverse scattering analysis is obtained from the volume integral equation to which the Born approximationis applied. This equation expresses the relationship between the fluctuation of the wave field andthe observed scattered waves at a limited region on the free surface. The fast method is acheived by introducing the fast algorithm for the transform of an elastic half space to construct the Krylov subspace. The numerical calculations are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. In addition, the effects of Tikhonov regularization method is also discussed based on the numerical calculattions.
