Abstract
The prerequisite for big data business is to develop and utilise information systems which automatically process, use and share personal data collected with electronic sensors and ubiquitous devices in a real time fashion and stored in large-scale databases. The development and use of such information systems usually entail social concern about privacy invasion. However, who invades privacy in the big data environment where any individual and organisation don't engage in processes of personal data handling? Do information systems, program codes or algorithms invade people's privacy? This study attempts to reconsider the concept of privacy and ways of privacy protection suitable for the age of big data.
