Abstract

Sampling method using high-concentration water-soluble polymer was proposed to obtain undisturbed samples from difficult ground, such as gravel with high fine contents, fracture zones and weathered rocks. Continuous efforts have been made to elucidate the mechanism of polymer during sampling. However, the procedure to determine the optimum condition for sampling has not been established yet.<br>Thus, proposal is made for the procedure to determine the sampling condition. Due consideration should be exercised on the cuttings recovery and seepage control of polymer into the cores.
