Abstract

In this paper the digital medical record system currently adopted in Japan is described, and its merits as well as demerits are discussed. The system is effective in supplying medical service to patients through cooperation of medical and co-medical staffs. It is also beneficial in visualization of medical processes by procedural modeling. But further consideration on risk management will be necessary for its future development.
