Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the concept of contracts from perspectives of philosophers, lawyers and sociologists and to reconsider our view of employment contract as management theorists. Firstly, in reviewing of these fundamental disciplines, the paper classifies researchersʼ view of contracts into the following two categories: Liberaloriented contract and relation-oriented contract. Secondly, the paper evaluates existing researches on employment contract from perspectives of these two categories. Lastly, the paper examines characteristics and bias shown in the previous researches.
