Abstract

1997~2012年度の東京都におけると畜牛の地方病性牛白血病(EBL)の発生状況を調査した結果,1997年度のEBL発生率は0.003%であったが,2005年度から増加し,2012年度は0.03%となった.EBL牛163頭のうち,生体所見で異常があったものは14.6%にすぎず,19.8%では白血球が7,500個/μ<i>l </i>未満であり,牛白血病ウイルス(BLV)抗体検査で陰性が1.85%認められた.一方,リアルタイムPCR法では全例からBLV遺伝子を検出したことから,本法はEBL診断に有効と考えられた.また,と畜牛のBLV抗体調査を行ったところ,陽性率は2005~2007年度には肥育用乳用種で23.8%,肥育用肉用種で19.8%であった.2012年度には肥育用肉用種のみを調査したが,12.7%に低下した.交雑種の陽性率は黒毛和種に比較して2回の調査ともに有意に高かった.

Incidence of enzootic bovine leukosis (EBL) in slaughtered cattle in Tokyo was investigated in 1997-2012. Incidence of EBL in fattened cattle in 2012 was 0.03%, which was approximately 14-times higher than the average for 1997-2004. Only 14.6% of 163 EBL cases had abnormal findings in terms of appearance. Namely, low white blood cell counts below 7,500 cells/μ<i>l</i> were found in 19.8% of the cases. Furthermore, 1.85% of the cases were negative by passive hemagglutination antibody test for bovine leukemia virus (BLV). On the other hand, the BLV genome was detected in all cases by real-time PCR, suggesting usefulness of this method. BLV infection surveys in 2005-2007 and in 2012 showed that the prevalence ratios of BLV in slaughtered dairy cattle and beef cattle were 23.8% and 19.8%, respectively, in 2005-2007, while the ratio in beef cattle decreased to 12.7% in 2012, and that crossbreed cattle had a significantly higher prevalence than Japanese Black in those years.
