Abstract

In recent years, the use of public transport has decreased in the progress of rural depopulation and declining birthrate and aging population, by the spread of private cars. However, because there are always vulnerable road users, public transport can not be abolished easily. In addition, the merger of municipalities will be done actively, so the demand for public transport is expected to change. So, in many local governments are faced with the need for restructuring public transport. In this study, I conducted a questionnaire survey on public transport to target the cities of the country, and the current situation and to understand the challenges of public transport in each city, and I classify the merger of municipalities by the cluster analysis to clarify trends and issues of public transportation policies each classification.
