Abstract

Various atherosclerosis risk factors have been presented for the past years on the basis of many clinical or epidemiologic studies. However, adequate clinical evaluation of atherosclerotic cardiovascular patients is impossible not infrequently. The purpose of this study is to make a statistical analysis on major clinical findings and laboratory data which are considered to cause or accelerate atherosclerotic cardiovascular lesion.<br>As a result, it was revealed that contribution of blood pressure to the formation and/or progress of atherosclerosis seemed more significant than other etiologic factorss we have studied in this report. Clinical findings of atherosclerosis related less closely with lipoprotein and lipid abnormalities than with blood pressure. However, we beleve more sophisticated qualitative and quantitative analyses of lipoproteins and lipids will reveal their actual state of contributions to the formation and/or progress of atherosclerosis.
