Structure Pattern of Government Leading Supporting System for the Elderly at Home-Case Study of N-Subdistrict in Beijing

Abstract

N/Subdistrict is the biggest Muslim minority habitat in Beliing located at the downtown area. It is regarded as important bylocal goverlmlent and is sulficiently supPorted on policy and f111ance. Accolnpanying to the rapid ageing in recent years it is trying quite much to explore the Supporting System fbr the Elderly at Home (SSEH)-This paper aims to analyze the process of the SSEH in N-Subdistrict (N-SSEH) and tries to summarizc its features and abstract a SSEH pattern. The conclusions are asfollows: 1) The N-SSEH is fbrlned under the leading of local government and operated emciently by the existing community organization system;2) Aspecial community service framework fbr the elderly is fbunded based on an effective systematic organization and work mechanism: 3) Because ofthe limitation of elderly service resources provided by government, cooperation with various service providers is needed.
