Abstract

To evaluate the effect of artificial upwelling producing structure on lower tropic production hydrodynamics and lower-tropic ecosystem simulations were executed. To verify the reproducibility of the simulation results of the field observation were used. As a result the bottom layer flow acting on the structure and fluctuation of temperature induced by internal tide were reproduced. However the problem was left on the evaluation of mixed layer depth of the temperature. On lower-trophic ecosystem simulation POC Sinking fluxes were reproduced. Suggested by the simulation the area that primary production was increased by effect of the structure extended 30 km north-south direction and 10 km west-east direction. And the value of increase was estimated at 1.3 mgC/m<sup>2</sup>/day.
