Abstract
Remote sensing by microwave is a very effective method for monitoring the vast ocean surface. However, the algorithm for reconstructing the sea surface from the received microwave signal is yet to be developed, because the formation process of the wind wave spectrum under various wind, current and swell conditions has not been fully understood yet. To understand the complex interactions between the turbulent wind and disturbed water surface, we conducted numerical simulation of air-water flow coupled by a deformable interface. In this paper we report the numerical method and preliminary computational results for validation.
