Abstract
Gold nanorods were intravenously injected into tumor-bearing mice. The distribution of gold in tumor-tissue sections was mapped by imaging mass spectrometry (IMS) using a MALDI mass spectrometer. The IMS images of tumor-tissue sections indicated that the gold nanorods were not distributed throughout tumor tissues but were localized in vasculature-rich areas.
